Breaking News: Sen. John Fetterman And Wife Injured In Car Crash, Rushed To Hospital

(Republican Senate News) – Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman, along with his wife, Gisele Fetterman, were injured in a car accident that took place this past Sunday, as per Michael Austin’s latest piece for The Western Journal. Fetterman was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Traverse traveling along Interstate 70 in western Maryland when he was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Impala going in the same direction, CBS News reported.

Fetterman has become somewhat of a hero for many moderates and even a few conservatives as he boldly decided to step away from the Democratic Party’s stance on immigration and Israel, going on to be vocal about the issues where he disagrees with the party that largely represents those of his worldview.

“An ambulance transported the senator and his wife, along with the driver of the Impala, to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia following the accident, state police told CBS. An official investigation into the crash has yet to determine how it came about, according to local NBC Philadelphia affiliate WCAU-TV,” Austin wrote.

As of this writing, the crash is still under investigation.

A representative for Fetterman spoke with WCAU and stated that the injuries the senator sustained were minor in nature. That’s definitely good news. The incident could have been a whole lot worse.

“On Sunday morning, John and Gisele were involved in a car accident with another driver. Out of an abundance of caution, they were evaluated at a local hospital,” the spokesperson said during the interview with WCAU. “John was treated for a bruised shoulder, and they were discharged that afternoon. They are doing well and happy to be back in Braddock.”

The report revealed that Fetterman was released from the hospital on Sunday afternoon and is scheduled to travel back to the nation’s capital in order to vote on the Senate floor this week.

CBS went on to state that so far, no one has been given a citation for the accident.

It’s also important to recall that Fetterman is still, from time to time, suffering the aftereffects of a stroke, an incident which occurred during his senatorial campaign back in 2022.
