MLB Legend Endorses Trump For President

(Republican Senate News) – Former President Donald Trump just got a huge endorsement from a legendary Major League Baseball player that might help him gain a few more voters in the deep, deep blue state of New York. Given how authorities in the state have been launching political attacks and utilizing the legal system as a weapon to take him down, I’d say Trump most certainly needs all of the support he can get.

According to BizPac Review, former New York Yankees player Mariano Rivera was doing an interview with WABC radio host Sid Rosenberg last Friday and revealed that he would be casting a ballot for Trump instead of President Joe Biden when the general election rolls around in November, stating that his “friend” is doing “the right thing for the country.”

I like the cut of this guy’s jib, don’t you?

“Trump was eager to share a clip of Rivera’s endorsement on his social media platform Truth Social — in the excerpt, the Yankees closer, affectionately known as The Sandman, spoke about Trump presenting him with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019,” BPR said.

“Having been given the Freedom of Honor medal from Donald Trump was amazing. I mean it was an amazing moment,” the retired all-time great went on to say. “Receiving that medal was special.”

“I’m very afraid, Mariano, for New York and this world … I’ve got a 19-year-old daughter, she’s gonna turn 20 on Sunday, and a 15-year-old son,” Rosenberg responded, “and I think we need President Trump to win or it could be very, very ugly. Do you agree with that?”

“I agree with that,” Rivera answered. “I’m not a politician, I’ll tell you that right now. I’m not going for the right or the left. I’m always going for who is doing the right thing for the country — I believe President Trump is. He’s my friend. I can’t deny that. Before he was the president, he was my friend. And because he is my friend, I’m going to vote for him.”

Trump has seemingly hinted on multiple occasions that New York might be up for grabs, teasing the possibility of holding rallies in Madison Square Garden and South Bronx.

“Do I think we have a chance? New York has changed a lot in the last two years,” he went on to say during a chat with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo. “We have migrants all over the street. They are living on Madison Avenue. Nobody can believe what’s happened to New York.”

“The people of New York are angry. People that would have never voted for me because I’m a Republican. I mean, they’re Democrats. Their parents were Democrats. They would vote for Democrats. I think they’re going to vote for me. So I think we’re going to give New York a heavy shot,” he remarked during the program. “They’re very unhappy in New York. What’s happening? And they’re unhappy with the crime. You take a look at the crime in New York, it’s at record levels.”

The former president asserted that he truly believes the state of New Jersey can become a red state, along with New Mexico, Virginia, and potentially even Minnesota, the stomping grounds of controversial “Squad” member Rep. Ilhan Omar.

“I’m not even sure that everything can’t be flipped,” he stated optimistically.

Let’s hope Trump is right and we can start taking back every state in the nation.
