Art Dealer With Michelle Obama Connection Fatally Stabbed Before Returning To US

(Republican Senate News) – Over three months after a high-profile art dealer with connections to former first lady Michelle Obama was brutally murdered, his former “husband” is soon to be extradited to Brazil in connection with the grisly death. The folks that Obama partied with seem to be more than a little bit unhinged wouldn’t you agree?

As per Jack Davis of The Western Journal, “Daniel Garcia Carrera, 53, has been accused in a murder-for-hire scheme that led to the Jan. 15 death of Brent Sikkema, 75, who was found stabbed to death in his Rio de Janeiro home, according to the New York Post.”

The murder occurred just before Sikkema was planning to come back to the United States.

In order for Brazil to have Garcia Carrera extradited from the U.S. they have to make a formal request to authorities. A hearing on the request is set for June 3.

“Garcia Carrera was arrested by FBI on March 20 in New York City, according to the New York Post. At the time, he was labeled a suspect in Sikkema’s death. The FBI also alleged that Garcia Carrera was planning to leave the country with Lucas Sikkema, 13, who Garcia Carrera and Sikkema were raising as their son,” the report went on to say.

“Brent Sikkema and Garcia Carrera had been a couple for 15 years but were going through a messy custody battle over the teenager at the time of Sikkema’s murder. Authorities claimed that Garcia Carrera was planning to flee to his native Cuba. Garcia Carrera was released on a $1 million bond but was also required to wear an ankle monitor, court documents say,” Davis wrote.

A piece that was published by The New York Times disclosed that $40,000 was taken from Sikkema’s home in Brazil at the time of his murder. Alejandro Triana Prevez was later arrested by authorities after surveillance footage showed him at the victim’s home at the time of his death.

An attorney representing Prevez, Gregorio Andrade, said his client revealed that Carrera offered him $200,000 in order to carry out the killing of Sikkema.

However, the legal representative for Carrera, Fabiana Marques, says her client is innocent in the matter.

“It’s important to note that Daniel was not given an opportunity to be heard by police, despite proactively offering himself for questioning via email,” she stated.
