(Republican Senate News) – Acting legend Robert De Niro, a man who is most famous for playing violent, ruthless gangsters in films such as ‘The Godfather II,’ ‘Goodfellas,’ and ‘Casino,’ recently stated there is no way he would ever play the part of former President Donald Trump in a movie due to his personality, referring to him as being too mean. It is acceptable to play hitmen who murder innocent people in cold blood, but Trump is crossing the line? Really?
No offense to De Niro, but I don’t think he’d be a good fit anyway, so there’s no reason to cry over his comments. However, the insanity that this guy continues to espouse as Trump lives rent free in his head is worth a chuckle or two.
“De Niro has played mobsters and hitmen but portraying Trump would cross the line, he told comedian Bill Maher on ‘Real Time with Bill Maher.’ The actor has been critical of Trump over the years while praising prominent Democrats, even saying he wanted to play then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in a movie about COVID-19,” the Daily Caller noted.
“I just don’t want to feel the way I did and many of us don’t after the election in … 2016 where we couldn’t believe that it happened. The guy is a total monster,” De Niro said during the interview with Maher.
“He’s such a mean, nasty, hateful person,” he continued. “I’d never play him as an actor, because I can’t see any good in him. Nothing. Nothing at all. Nothing redeemable in him.”
And there’s something redeemable in playing mobsters? Does he not see how crazy he sounds? There are a lot of good reasons for an actor not to take a part and De Niro can refuse any role he wants, but if you’re going to pontificate on why you won’t play Trump, it should be for a better reason than “he’s a meanie.” Especially if you’re the guy from ‘Taxi Driver.’
Like all of the fearmongers on the left, De Niro started spouting off during the interview about how dangerous it would be for America if Trump were to win the 2024 presidential election.
“If he wins the election, you won’t be on the show anymore,” he remarked during the discussion with Maher. “He’ll come looking for me. There’ll be things that happen that none of us can imagine. That’s what happens in that kind of a dictatorship, which is what he says. Let’s believe him. Take him at his word.”
De Niro’s attitude is going to make a Trump victory in November so much more satisfying.
“Trump is currently leading President Joe Biden in a likely 2024 rematch by 1.9 points in the RealClearPolitics average. Trump’s reelection campaign is increasing its efforts to zero in on black male voters in crucial swing states, The Washington Post reported on Friday. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid, Trump is a person with no value or morals. Trump would sell his mother for a chance at more of anything. I hope the people send Trump a very loud and clear message on election day, that they want nothing to do with such a poor excuse of a man. Isn’t it something how trump haters can only hurl insults at those of us who support president Trump and our country’s success, but they never seem to talk about 2 things. 1) Trumps great accomplishments 2) Bidens failure to continue those great accomplishments.
