MUST-SEE: Trump Name Drops 2 Contenders Who Could Be His VP

(Republican Senate News) – With big victories under his belt in the Republican Party presidential primary, former President Donald Trump dropped the names of two individuals that he could potentially ask to be his running mate. However, he asserted no final decision has been made. It seems at this point Trump is almost a lock for the nomination, but in politics anything can happen.

According to The Western Journal, Trump sat down for an interview with Maria Bartiromo of “Sunday Morning Futures,” where he stated he’s not planning on making an announcement about his vice presidential pick any time soon. Well, that’s going to disappoint a lot of Trump supporters who are practically chomping at the bit to find out who they will be casting ballots for come this November. Although, we’ve already waited almost four years, so what’s a few more months?

“We have so many great people in the Republican Party,” the former president proclaimed, going on to add that he will not reveal his pick “for a little while.”

“What criteria are you using to identify who your running mate is?” Bartiromo asked the former president.

“Always, it’s gotta be one thing. It’s gotta be who would be a good president. I mean, you always have to think that, because in case of emergency. Things happen, right? No matter who you are, things happen. That’s gotta be number one,” Trump explained.

Bartiromo then queried him for a name, but he sort of pawed the question out of the way by replying, “Well, I have a lot of good people. I have a lot of good ideas.”

During the discussion, Bartiromo asked Trump if there was anything he had said to his potential running mate, to which he replied, “I talk to everybody.”

“You know, I called Tim Scott and a lot of people like Tim Scott, and I said you’re a much better candidate for me than you are for yourself,” Trump remarked, making a reference to Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina. “When I watched him, he was fine. He was good, he was fine, but he was very low key.”

“I watched him in the last week, defending me and sticking up for me and fighting for me – I said, ‘Man, you’re a much better person for me than you are for yourself,'” Trump continued.

The former president noted that Scott had been a “tiger” in his defense. Bartiromo, intrigued by the name drop, pressed Trump, who deflected by saying his pick could be Scott or it “could be a lot of people.”

While speaking with Bartiromo, Trump also mentioned GOP Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota.

“Kristi Noem has been incredible fighting for me. She said, ‘I’d never run against him because I can’t beat him.’ That was a very nice thing to say,” Trump told Bartiromo.

During an interview Bartiromo had with Noem, she asked the governor if Trump has contacted her about being his running mate. “No. We talk all the time, but we’ve never had that conversation,” Noem replied.

When asked about rumors floating around that he contacted presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. regarding the VP slot, he declared that the encounter never happened.

While Trump says he hasn’t made his pick yet, it’s likely he already has the individual in mind he wants for the job. Wisely, he’s keeping things under wraps for now with so much other stuff happening that requires his attention. If I had to make a guess, I’d say it’s probably Tim Scott, but there are a lot of options on the table.

  1. I can’t wait for President Trump to be back in the White House. He needs to “fix” America so it will be greater than these last 4years. Who ever heard of hamburger being $8.99 a pound. Biden is killing us with inflation. All these illegitimate charges are all trumped up (lol) against him. I agree we need a strong Vice President that can take over in nanosecond to defend our country. Remember President Trump we all have your back
